Supplies Directions

To make 50 servings you'll need:

  • 11 cups Dry Milk Powder
  • 1-3/4 cups and 3 tablespoons Powdered Non-dairy Coffee Creamer
  • 1-3/4 cups and 3 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 5-1/4 cups Confectioners' Sugar (also called Powered Sugar) that has been sifted with the flour sifter
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Flour Sifter
  • Large Spoon
  • Measuring Cup
  • Combine in a large mixing bowl, milk powder, confectioner's sugar, cocoa powder, and creamer. Stir ingredients until thoroughly combined. Keep cocoa mixture stored in an airtight container until ready to make favors.
  • To make 1 serving, place 1/3 cup cocoa mixture in a coffee cup or mug, and add 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir. Top with few marshmallows and chocolate chips, if desired.

Tips for Creating Your Hot Chocolate Wedding Favor

There are several creative ways to package your hot chocolate favors such as decorative glass bottles, gift tins, small zipper bags placed inside decorative favor bags. For a more eye-catching favor package, put the hot chocolate into cone bags for an ice cream cone shaped favor.

You can add variety to your cocoa wedding favors by adding crushed peppermint candy, chopped gourmet chocolates, colored sprinkles, or flavored dry coffee creamer.

How to Make Cocoa Cone Wedding Favors:

Supplies Directions
  • Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 12x6 Cellophane Cone Bags or 12" Clear Disposable Pastry Bags
  • Small Clear Rubber Bands or Elastic Hair Bands
  • Favor tags or labels
    • Possible Favor Tag Wording:
    • The Perfet Mix (Bride's name) and (Groom's name), wedding date.
    • Warm wishes from the new Mr. and Mrs. Thank you so much for sharing our special day. Love, (Bride's name) and (Groom's name), wedding date.
    • Include these instructions:
      • Hot cocoa mix for 2: Divide mix between 2 mugs (5 tbsp each). Stir in 3/4 cup of hot water into each mug. Share with someone you love!
  • Ribbon or Curling Ribbon (Choose ribbon that compliments your wedding colors)
  • Hole punch (To punch holes in favor tags)
  • Scissors
  • Funnel
  • Put 2/3 cup of hot chocolate mix into bag using the funnel. Twist the bag tightly, right above the cocoa, but leave a little air in the top of the bag, secure with clear elastic band. Cut off the excess plastic from above the elastic band.
  • Gently push the tied end down into the hot cocoa mix so that you make an indentation. This is where the marshmallows and candy will sit.
  • Place the cocoa cone inside another clear bag. Be sure to line up the seams.
  • Then put in about 2tbsp of chocolate chips, on top of chocolate chips place about a 5tbsp of marshmallows.
  • Twist shut and secure with clear elastic band.
  • Tie a ribbon around the elastic band.
  • Attach favor tag or stick on label that includes preparation instructions. If using favor tags be sure to attach before tying your ribbon.
