What to Do

Supplies Needed:

  • Scented Votive Candles
  • Seasonal Candle Scent Suggestions:
    • Spring: Lilac, Lavender, Magnolia, Honeysuckle
    • Summer: Watermelon, Beach Scent, Tropical Fruit, Coconut
    • Fall: Pumpkin, Spiced Apple, Cranberry, Cinnamon
    • Winter: Evergreen, Gingerbread, Mulberry, Peppermint
  • Tulle fabric
    • Choose a color that coordinates with the candle color nicely, as well as, your wedding décor
  • Ribbon
  • Pinking Shears (scissors)

Making the Favor

Using pinking shears, cut your tulle fabric to be 10” square. Hint: try making one favor first to make sure the fabric measurement fits your votive perfectly since the candles can vary slightly in size from different companies. If your votive comes in plastic wrap remove the wrap to let the scent escape. Gather up the tulle fabric square around the votive and pinch and twist it closed above the wick. With the help of a friend or family member, tie the ribbon around the tulle tightly. A hole-punched tag may be added to the ribbon (before tying) with your initials or wedding date, or a sweet sentiment like “Our Love Glows”.

Your DIY Scented Votive Candle favors will make your reception area burst with a lovely fragrance, any season of the year! A candle always makes a thoughtful take home favor for guests for many occasions.
