About the Holiday

National Young Readers Day is an annual event that was created by Pizza Hut and Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. Schools take this day to invite celebrity guest to come in and read for the children. Celebrities consist of local officials, fireman, parents and other guest. This day recognizes the benefits and joys of reading.
