Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day was created by the Intel Foundation to increase interest in engineering among girls. Studies show that the main reason girls have not pursued a career in engineering was usually because of the lack of familiarity with the field and variety of jobs engineers have. This holiday is celebrated during Engineers Week. Job-shadow an engineer or look to a local college or university for events they may have for this day.
