Supreme Sacrifice Day honors those that sacrifice for others. A supreme sacrifice usually refers to someone that gives up their life for others. The best example would be when Jesus Christ died on the cross for all. The gospel of John 15:12-13 states "This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you. No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends." Others who put their life on the line for others include firefighters, police officers, soldiers, doctors and nurses.
