About the Holiday

See You at the Pole (SYATP) is a global day of Christian student prayer and scripture-reading where students of all ages meet to pray by the flagpole at their school. This holiday began as a grassroots movement in 1990 with a handful of students praying. This event happens at both public and private schools. Although, public school sponsored prayer is not allowed, the students themselves can organize and partake in the event as part of their right to freedom of speech.
