About the Holiday

National Whipped Cream Day pays tribute to the topping that adds that extra pizzazz to ice cream sundaes, milk shakes, pie and even hot chocolate or coffee. While we weren't able to find the origin of this holiday, the date of January 5th is significant as it falls on the birthday of Reddi-wip founder Aaron "Bunny" Lapin. In the 1940s, he used the newly invented aerosol canister to package and dispense whipped cream in a way that made it much more practical and easy.
