Love a Tree Day is a holiday to get out and show your love for trees, since they are such a vital part of nature; providing erosion protection and producing that extremely important element oxygen. The Amazon Rainforest produces more than 20 percent of the world's oxygen and at least 80% of the developed world's diet originated in tropical rainforests. Rainforests used to cover 14% of the earth's land surface, now they only cover 6%.^[1]

Even though we could not find the origins of this holiday, this holiday definitely helps the cause of nature enthusiasts and tree huggers since they show their love for trees everyday. So use this holiday to get outside, join the tree huggers and love a tree.
