About the Holiday
Typically, we like when holidays have more meaning/significance and less of a commercial agenda. That being said, there are multiple sources that recognize June 28th as Insurance Awareness Day, and it's our goal to document recognized holidays. Even though, this holiday smacks of unadulterated commercialism, it is a good idea to periodically double-check your coverages to reasonably protect yourself from possible hardships. Like other celebrated products (ex. invisible tape, paper clips, etc.) when used properly, it does provide a valuable service.
Although, in our research we haven't been able to track down the origin of this holiday, our bet is that the insurance industry might have had something to do with its creation. ;)
