About the Holiday

Today is Chanukah which is also spelled Hanukkah, this is a Jewish festival that last for 8 days and typically falls between late November to late December on the Gregorian calendar. Celebrating Hanukkah involves lighting a candle on a Menorah each night, eating fried food such as latkes (potato cakes), children play the Dreidel game, and the giving of gelt (chocolate coins) to children.
