About the Holiday

Today is National Candy Corn Day the day to pay tribute to that sugary yellow, orange, and white candy that actually resembles a piece of core. This candy was created in the 1880s by George Renninger of the Wunderlee Candy Company, based in Philadelphia. Then in 1900, the Goelitz Candy Company began producing Candy Corn, this company later became Jelly Belly Candy Company which continues to make the candy today. Candy corn became and continues to be a popular Halloween favorite, but now the candy has several variations in colors for other holidays like Indian Candy Corn for Thanksgiving, Reindeer Corn for Christmas, Cupid Corn for Valentine's Day, and Bunny Corn for Easter.

Celebrate today with a huge bag of colorful Candy Corn.
