Say cheese! Camera Day recognizes one of the most useful inventions of modern times. It has been instrumental from everything from news reporting, to solving crimes, to saving cherished memories. It was also the starting point for motion pictures and TV. Evolving from the box-like devices that took black and white images and needed to be developed, modern cameras are now included on most wireless phones and are able to take crisp, color images that can be shared almost instantly.
We were unable to locate the origin of this holiday, and the June 29th date does not seem to match up to any significant dates in the camera's history.
