About the Flower

The beautiful Calla Lily is a flowering plant native to Southern Africa. It's botanical name is Zantedeschia, given as a tribute to an Italian botanist of the same name. The trumpet shaped bloom is varied in color. White is most common in the U.S., but it can also be found in yellow, orange red, purple and pink.

Fun and Interesting Facts

The Calla Lily is not a "true" lily under the botanical definition. It is very poisonous and is capable of killing children and animals if ingested. The Calla Lily is such a strong and sturdy plant that it is considered a weed in much of the world!
