Presidential Joke Day is not about telling jokes about presidents but about presidents with a sense of humor. On August 11th, 1984 before his regular Saturday radio address, President Ronald Reagan was testing the microphone. He decided to be funny and said "My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes." To his surprise, he was speaking live on the air.
