The National Pie Council (yes there is one) created National Pie Day to celebrate the wholesome goodness of pie and to pass on the joy of pie eating and pie making to future generations. A very American desert: Apple Pie. A common Thanksgiving dessert: Pumpkin Pie. Other popular pies include Lemon Meringue Pie, Sweet Potato Pie, French Silk Pie, it's endless.
