About the Holiday

National Beheading Day is one of those odd holidays that just doesn't make much sense. It may be because beheading was a practiced form of capital punishment. Throughout history, kings and queens were beheaded such as Marie Antoinette and of course Henry VIII was fond of beheading his wives.
