About the Holiday

On Nametag Day everyone (except for children in public places) is supposed to wear where nametags. If everyone did this, then no matter where you go the people that you see and meet would no longer be complete strangers. Not only would it make this day's daily routine more friendly, it would also be a celebration of the variety of names that people have.

This holiday is part of the Celebrate Your Name Week (CYNW) which was established in 1997 by onomatology hobbyist Jerry Hill.
