About the Holiday
Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children was created in 2001 by the The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA). Research at Columbia University showed that that the more often kids with their families the less likely they will smoke, drink, or use illegal drugs. The holiday was created to promote the importance of the family meal and to encourage parent child communication, reconnect, fact find, and laugh together.
