Christmas Eve is a Christian holiday and is the day before Christmas. Some families have Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and some attend church services. Traditionally, the last white candle in the center of the Advent wreath is lit on Christmas Eve to symbolize the coming of Christ.

Last minute shoppers who brave the malls often find great sales on whatever merchandise is still left on Christmas Eve, and Santa delivers presents on Christmas Eve night.
