Today is Angel Food Cake Day the day to honor the light and spongy angel food cake, which gets it's origins from the Pennsylvania Dutch and has been around since the 19th century. This cake is generally thought of as a healthy dessert, but most of us ruin that by covering it with sugary fruit topping and mounds of whipped topping (yummy!).
